Orlando Florida Vacation

snap53.jpgWhen Walt Disney decided to build a theme park on swamp land in central Florida, he was probably the only one who had a clear vision of what the future would bring. What started out as a theme park plunked down in the middle of nowhere just a generation ago has now grown into one of the most visited and most celebrated family resorts in the world. And it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon!

Yes, it can be crowded. So if that’s a problem for you, be careful to choose a time to visit when most kids are in school. However, there’s not really an off-season in Orlando anymore. It has become a 4 season destination.

Don’t be too ambitious with your agenda. Plan ahead to make certain you get all your own personal must-dos on your schedule, but remember that not everyone will have the same list. I estimate that you’ll need a full week just to ride all the rides in the theme parks.

Add a day for Sea World, another for a side trip to the beach and a day for shopping, theme dining and a round of full-sized or miniature golf. Then, you still won’t have seen the Everglades (just a short drive to the south) or the Kennedy Space Center or the home of the Miami Dolphins. And you won’t have taken a glass-bottomed boat ride, frolicked in the numerous Orlando water parks or fed the gators.

With so much to do in Orlando, it’s no surprise that it has become a popular place for second homes. Multiple generations can enjoy the area together and apart in every season of the year. The best news about this is the abundance of Kissimee and Orlando vacation homes that are available as rentals.

You truly get all the comforts of home – and then some. Many rentals have their Orlando vacation rental with private poolown pools. Nearly all provide access to one, along with activity centers, tennis courts and other recreational facilities. In addition, you get much more space for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves, often with a deck or a yard. You can prepare your own meals when you wish and you have the facilities to entertain, as well.

It’s no wonder second homes in Orlando have become so popular. You can’t see and enjoy it all in one vacation trip to Florida.
